2024 National Convention Elections
Democrats will meet in Chicago (August 19-22) and Republicans will meet in Milwaukee (July 15-18). Thousands of delegates will vote on their party’s platforms and choose their nominee for president. More than 200 educators serve as delegates every four years and 2024 will be no different.
• If you have already applied as a delegate for the Democratic or Republican party, please let us know by completing this form.

California Democrats
California Democrats will send 496 delegates and 35 alternates to the Democratic National Convention in 2024. All pledged delegates are allocated to the presidential candidates according to the results of the March 5, 2024 primary. At-Large and PLEO Delegates are chosen by the Presidential campaigns. The California Democratic Party is currently accepting applications to become a delegate to the 2024 Democratic National Convention. To apply, CLICK HERE.
Filing Deadlines:
· District Level Delegate: filing deadline is March 21.
· At-Large Delegate: filing deadline is April 24.
· PLEO Delegate: filing deadline is April 24.

California Republicans
California Republicans will send 169 Delegates and 169 Alternate Delegates to the Republican National Convention in 2024. If you’re a registered California Republican who is a grassroots leader, active community member, or a CAGOP volunteer or donor, the Party encourages you to apply today by CLICKING HERE. Submit your applications as soon as possible.

Please note: CTA does not reimburse for National Conventions. NEA plans to provide financial support and logistical coordination for members who become delegates. The goal is to send a strong delegation with a shared identity as supporters of public education.
