Public employees, including college faculty and teachers, are penalized when they have earned Social Security benefits in addition to their pensions. Social Security uses a formula to lower the Social Security amount, unlike people who have non-public pensions. This unfairly impacts faculty, particularly part-time faculty who have much lower pensions. Please read, sign, and promote HR 82 to overturn the WEP/GPO.
