Elections

Martin Luther King, Jr

The next CCA election will be held in 2026 at the CCA Spring Conference and Council.

ABOUT CCA ELECTIONS

CCA members who serve as delegates to the CCA Councils elect the CCA Board—half in even numbered years and the other half in odd numbered years—at the Spring Conference and Council. These elections are overseen by the Elections and Credentials Committee.

Delegates are elected by their chapters. Interested members should contact their chapter president for more information and to express interest in attending.

The members of the Elections Credential Committee are impartial and maintain the one person, one vote and open nomination process required for affiliation with CTA and NEA. The committee meets on a regular basis to review the election process, prepare for upcoming elections, and suggest modifications to the Elections Manual.

CCA maintains its own Elections Manual as part of the CCA Standing Rules. As part of the requirements for affiliation in CTA and NEA, CCA maintains one person/one vote and the open nominations policies. Questions regarding CCA elections should be sent to the CCA Elections & Credentials chair at elections@cca4us.org.

View the current CCA Elections Manual for information about CCA Elections and processes.

For chapters, view the 2024-25 CTA Chapters/SCC Elections Guidelines for requirements for chapter elections; login is required. The CTA Elections Manual now focuses solely on CTA Elections; login also required.

The best way to get involved is to attend a CCA conference as a chapter delegate. Contact your chapter president to find out if they have delegate positions to fill. For more information about elections and how you can get involved in union leadership, please contact the your chapter’s district director and/or the CCA president at president@cca4us.org.

Election Documents

CCA Elections documents are made available 45 days prior to the next election. Elections occur during the Fall and Spring conferences and 1) require that chapter presidents have submitted an approved list of delegates by the respective deadlines; 2) require that delegates be signed in by 9 a.m. on the Saturday morning of the election. No exceptions to these rules are permitted.
