UTLA Reaches Landmark agreement with LAUSD!

The Community College Association congratulates United Teachers of Los
Angeles on reaching a landmark tentative agreement with the Los Angeles
Unified School District. UTLA’s outstanding preparation serves as a model
for all educators’ unions. Among other wins, the agreement brings teacher
salaries closer to living wages for Los Angeles, provides paid parental
leave for educators, creates 450 new social worker, counselor, and school
psychologist positions, establishes a 20-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio for
special education, commits to supporting immigrant students and families.
CCA trusts that LAUSD will avert a large-scale strike set for April 14 by
reaching agreements with Service Employees International Union Local 99
and the Associated Administrators of Los Angeles.
