Campus Equity Week (CEW) is officially celebrated during the last week of October; however, some colleges and universities have chosen to celebrate it earlier, later, or even once a semester.
CEW is a time to celebrate the accomplishments, contributions, and work of part-time, adjunct, contingent faculty who continue to make up an average of 50% of the faculty headcount and who teach anywhere from 40% to 70% of college classes.
The need for equity is even greater now as higher education faces multiple challenges and an increasing number of requirements for faculty.
CCA offers organizing materials and grants for events at our chapters which are intended to raise awareness of the plight of part-time/adjunct faculty. We sponsor two specific events every year: Campus Equity Week in the Fall and Part-Time Appreciation Month in the Spring. Chapters can choose when to hold their events depending on their semester schedules. We also support state or national part-time faculty events. Our materials and grants can be adapted for these one-time events. Below are some of the available resources.
